What are Porcelain Veneers?

About 80% of people are dissatisfied with their smile. If you are unhappy about how your teeth looks or the way you smile, porcelain veneers might be right for you.

Porcelain veneers are wafer thin layers of super strong porcelain bonded to the visible surface of your teeth. It can correct many cosmetic problems such as the size, shape and color of your teeth. It can also be used to close gaps in between your teeth.

There are two types:

1. Traditional Veneers – requires preparation or shaving of a layer of enamel to provide space for the installation of porcelain veneers. Because preparation is needed for this type of veneer, this process is irreversible.

2. No Preparation Veneers – does not require shaving of enamel. It is directly bonded to the surface of the teeth. Because there is no preparation needed for this type of veneer, this process is reversible.  However, there are limitations and disadvantages to this procedure.
